Instead, we have a President who tries to negotiate and compromise with those who have openly sworn to make him a one term President, with those who routinely, enthusiastically- block, sabotage and ridicule anything and everything he has ever tried to accomplish. Smart as he is, you'd think he'd wise up and threaten to burn down the whole goddamn plantation. Instead, he promises to double his commitment to... compromise and negotiate.
As Mike Malloy asserted- they're not gonna stop until he cries out--- "Toby!"

As much as I despise Republican's and their retarded cousins the Tea Baggers, it appears as if they had one thing right - American's really don't like change all that much. I think Obama just went about it the wrong way and tried to do too much for too few, at the wrong time, and didn't listen to what anyone else said. I think he's now trying to salvage what could be the extinction of the Democratic party in 2012. I just hope that this is the start of a very shrewd plan to recapture the spirit. Otherwise the Tea Baggers are going to bring your country back to the stone age.
There is no shrewd plan- Obama has proven that over and over and over again...
Republicans will sell every last living thing on the planet, Democrats will beg to divvy up the inanimate remains (and of course, be denied) and the teabaggers will revel in the ashes- let's see what arises from the carnage they bequeath us.
I guess the only chance for survival is that once the Republican's get in office that they'll have enough sense to realize that their major changes will also be political suicide. I think that most politicians know that suddenly laying off thousands and thousands of government workers will not get them re-elected.
Let's put the blame where the blame belongs. Republicans repeatedly voted down a minimum wage increase- in addition to preventing the extension of unemployment benefits.
And they're still foaming at the mouth to privatize Social Security.
Americans continually kick themselves in the ass- and apparently love doing it! Over, and over, and over again...
