The First 9/11

One of the major differences one can draw between Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda, and Henry Kissinger and the CIA, is that bin Laden first warned the US of dire consequences to come should they not withdraw their troops from his native country. Kissinger (or Nixon) gave no such warning- nor was any transgression against the US ever made by Salvador Allende's Chile.

We installed and supported a terrorist who killed thousands of his own people, and decades later attacked yet another country whose leader, interestingly enough, we first supported, and then tired of- all before we decided to kill hundreds of thousands of that country's men, women and children, for no reason whatsoever.

And yet to this day, we continue to call others "TERRORISTS" without shame, without hesitation, without the slightest pretense of self awareness...

The Hunt...

What happens when someone accuses you of something you simply can't disprove, something that will ruin and condemn you the rest of your life- whether guilty or innocent. And it's pretty easy to do...



And it is precisely because it is such an utterly heinous crime, and one that can also be so utterly impossible to prove with 100% certainty either way, that it is so highly emotional, socially divisive and forever life altering. The horror of convicting innocents, or freeing perpetrators hangs heavy on the mind. One always wants to protect the most vulnerable, particularly when it comes to children- but when the "evidence" is circumstantial at best, the problem of how to choose, how to determine guilt or innocence, can devolve into an epic nightmare of Shakespearean proportions.

The way the prosecution handled The Wee Care Nursery School Scandal was almost as grotesque as the charges themselves- videos show investigators (both law officials and child psychologists) posing the most leading of questions to nervous, young children anxious to please, over and over again. It was a modern day witch hunt of the highest order as the accusations grew more and more bizarre, without any real evidence.

On the other extreme, have no doubt that monsters do lurk about, and well organized ones at that. "The Finders," were child abusers of the highest order discovered in a park with disheveled children in tow. It has since become "conspiracy theory" domain of the highest order (since mainstream media quickly ceased reporting on it)- but the fact remains that you had an incensed Washington, DC police force that had their investigation quashed at the behest of... the CIA.

The CIA also sponsored the infamous cold war, mind control program known as MK-Ultra, that was also formerly relegated to the realm of "conspiracy theorists," before it was eventually proven to involve: drugs, torture, sensory deprivation, and ritual and sexual abuse (involving children). It is now a matter of Congressional Record- and official apology... for what it's worth. Throw in False Memory Syndrome, of which you have numerous supporters and detractors, and you have a veritable witches' brew of possible nightmare scenarios, suspects and victims...

The Act Of Killing

I first heard of this film on Colin Pantall's blog, but I honestly couldn't make heads or tails of it- it just sounded so freakin' bizarre! And you get a good sense of that, and a good deal more, from this interview with its director. This has got to be one of the most fascinating, revealing, and imaginative (and that's just for starters) documentaries of all freakin' time... yes, that man is smiling- while assuming the position in which hundreds (thousands?) of victims were killed, at the same exact place they were killed.

Hypocrisy Unbound

What do you do if you're President (particularly one pledged to "transparency" and human rights) and you just found out that you're responsible for the deaths of 21 children and fourteen women (five of them pregnant) with a simple wave of your hand. Do you at the very least accept responsibility for your action, at least attempt to make amends, and discontinue the policy that led to such a horrific event? Or do you attempt to cover up (by committing further wrongs) as the criminals in charge before you? And carry on as usual...   More here.

Guantanamo: Let The Dying Begin!

Wasn't this nation expressly conceived and created to permanently abolish the very possibility of such living nightmares?

Over half the people there have been cleared for release. They have committed no crime, done no wrong- they know it, we know it. And yet we continue to imprison them in a living hell: without the slightest modicum of justice, without the slightest opportunity for hope. 

Basically, they have been told that we have committed such an egregious and fundamental error that admitting to it, even acknowledging it, would be such a monumental admission of guilt, that we simply could not endure the consequences of such embarrassment. Therefore, it was decided that it was in our best interest that they technically do not exist and should just die, quietly and well out of sight. All that we ask of them is that they do not do anything to draw attention to themselves.

I Was Wrong- Some People Really Do Deserve To Be Tortured!

 

I'm speaking, of course, of privileged, spoiled, ignorant assholes  who refuse to metamorphose into any kind of sentient beings capable of the least amount of empathy with the rest of their species; those concerned with themselves and themselves only.

Let me be clear, this is very much a ticking time bomb scenario- these people have all reached the age of consent and show not the slightest remorse for their fundamentalist, sociopathic practices. Time to go to the dark side with their ilk. Let's treat 'em to a manicure they won't forget, let's rock and shock their nether regions, and then clean 'em all up with the water treatment of their lives.

I'm not naive enough to think that the US never tortured until the Iraq/Afghanistan debacles. But at the very least, it was against our official policy- a policy that actually served to prevent or curtail torture at least on (more than one) occasion, and served (again- at the very least) as the ideal that we supposedly tried to honor and perhaps someday achieve. Then tough guy types like four time deferment Cheney decided to take the gloves off and pacify his inherent blood lust by making "enhanced interrogation" (the same nomenclature used by the Nazis to refer to torture) legal.

There's uhhh... something about torture which just sickens and incites me to no end. It's the lowest of the absolute low in human interaction- a humane way of putting it. At least we were headed in the right direction pre 9/11- if only in theory. Post 9/11 we learned to embrace, promote and revel in it- the biggest bullies on the world block. Presently, we say we don't (nod nod, wink wink), while we still ship 'em out for others to do the dirty work and still hold "the right" to do it ourselves-  whenever the "proper" occasion(s) somehow arise.

It's a shame on this current administration- an even greater shame we all share in and choose to ignore- long as it's somebody else...

Set Up, Railroaded & Convicted

According to Kiriakou, based on what he had been told by the CIA, it had taken only a single brief instance of waterboarding to extract answers to an interrogator's questions from Abu Zubaydah....

He was able to withstand the waterboarding for quite some time. And by that I mean probably 30, 35 seconds... and a short time afterwards, in the next day or so, he told his interrogator that Allah had visited him in his cell during the night and told him to cooperate.

Eventually it became known that Abu Zubaydah had in fact been waterboarded at least 83 times, and that little or no useful extra information may have been gained by "harsh methods".

The only Fed to be convicted and sent to jail for torture was the one official who didn't engage in it and spoke out publicly against it. And in order to get that prized conviction in The Era Of Obama Transparency, John Kiriakou was set up and railroaded lock, stock and barrel. The animals who did the actual torturing, the lying, son of a bitch, bastard who destroyed records of those proud, defining moments in American history are home resting, getting their pay checks with drink (and flag) in hand.

Once again the choice in voting for President of the United States will be between choosing something that is certifiably putrid- and something that smells so god awfully bad, it might as well be...

While the Obama administration hasn't prosecuted those responsible for torture during the Bush years, it is taking a strong stand against a former official believed to have supplied information to the media about use of torture and other controversial tactics during the previous administration.

Embarrassing...

As a Puerto Rican, it was both embarrassing and infuriating to see this sellout of humanity allowed an open forum to sell his credo of wanton opportunism and barbarism- especially since he should damn well be aware of how the country he tortured for, tortured his own people...

Sunday's post was purely "hypothetical," mere "speculation." But before you scoff at the recall of the woman below and automatically dismiss it as the wild, psychotic machinations of a paranoid schizophrenic (or yet another "Conspiracy Theory")- remember... this is official testimony from The President's Advisory Committee on Human Radiation Experimentation in Wash, DC back in '95. And then remember- President Clinton officially apologized for this program.

This is not the singular case of what happened to one, unfortunate, solitary individual- MK-ULTRA was a program in which Americans willingly, systematically and "scientifically" tortured and sexually abused young American children in the name of these United States. And in these days of elevated fear, and heightened secrecy and security, when "enhanced interrogation" (BTW- the same exact term used by the Nazi's) is looked upon with such increased fondness-- you willing to bet the house this still aint going on under a different acronym, under a different administrator, with ever more advanced "technology" and zeal?
