Labor Day is when we celebrate the US worker. We're not allowed to celebrate with everyone else in the world on the more traditional May Day because that would be (gasp!)... Socialist- Communist even! And, of course, we no longer have any unions of real consequence, because our beloved predatory capitalist system has outsourced so many of our worthwhile manufacturing jobs to foreign countries (the major one being... Communist). So it all kinda goes in one big, nonsensical circle, as we happily continue to voluntarily kick ourselves in the ass!
