Anyone doubting Lou Reed's curatorial bona fides in photography has merely to peer at the photos included in this revelatory feature- nothing like a few infrareds to truly assure and inspire. His third (3rd!) book of photographs is published by Blurb Steidl- and if you ask him real nice when you see him there, he may not only play ya a tune, he may just let you borrow his new $24,000 medium format Leica!

Guess it makes a change from some old model/actress who's tits have sagged...........
That at least we can understand as their industry slams the door on them at a certain age. Age discrimination- a path we've both traveled down before.
And I could understand if this was say... Diane Keaton who does have an extensive photography background and published Reservations (a swell little monograph of her own work) back in '80, or even Annie Leibovitz who has also taken a good B&W or two back in the day, and also "needs" the money. And even Graham Nash actually played a pivotal role in the development of digtal printers.
But this is complete ommercial/celebrity wooing of the worst kind. He really should know enough to be ashamed, him and his $24,000 camera.
And if he aint (which he most obviously aint)- his multi media wife should enlighten him.
