Spectacular?
Gotta admit I was completely underwhelmed by the egg sized jpeg I kept seeing of this supposedly "stunningly spectacular" 3,000 photo composite of our own Milky Way Galaxy- till I finally caught up with the high res image...
Beyond comprehension is exactly right- more stars in the universe than grains of sand on our planet! Wrap that around our puny little ape like brains! Not to mention the multiverse...
That's why I get ticked off to no end when certain scientists hem and haw about life on other planets. Most will grant a good "possibility," which also means that there is also a good possibility of older, more intelligent life- some of which may be right here, right now just as we have been out there in our very limited, very primitive craft trying to learn about them.

oh my god it's full of stars
...and a couple of second rate comedians.
Wow. And one has to remember that this is just (part of) one galaxy. One of several billion (that we know of).
The scale and the possibilities are beyond comprehension.

I just can't buy a little bit pregnant.
