Update..

After the previous post on Shelby Lee Adams, I had the thought of ending this blog- on a high note with great imagery, kinda like how a pro athlete should end a long, illustrious career before they linger and start to fester. As I've alluded to before, it's getting to be a little less fun, and a little more work these days. Perhaps it's just this damn cold talking. Dunno... But I will be posting less in the future. Yes, it's a fine line balancing something like my photography, the reward of which is strictly personal (the one thing it is strictly not meant to be) with something like writing this blog, the reward of which is strictly personal (the one thing...).

Anyway, we'll see what the morning brings- a retrospective at MOMA, a Fujifilm X-Pro 1, a Zagat rating???

NNNNOOOOOOOOOOO. Your blog is one of the few things that keeps me going photographically, and doing my own blog. Ok, forget the feeble attempt at playing mind games. I respect whatever decision you make, but don't loose my email address.

You would be missed greatly. Everyday I cruise on over to your site to see and read... Good luck

Thanks guys, always good to hear from "the regular," and those who rarely speak out...

Alas (if I may continue to employ the pro athlete analogy), my addictive personality all but ensures that I'll continue to keep swinging- despite fewer at bats, and fewer hits.

It's not so much that I've tired of it, just that it gets all the harder to keep it fresh. If I was still living at home in NYC I'd have a constantly renewable source of photography material- the topic of an upcoming post...

Maybe going out for some drinks would help with your malaise...

Drinks!? They always help- at least while drinking...

Reading this in Eugene it's hard to hear you complain about lack of photography material nearby. Maybe nothing can compare to NYC but San Francisco still has to be one of the best cities in the country to see photos. Oh well, I guess the grass is always greener. It's pretty darned green in Eugene although there still aren't many photo galleries.

Blake- as far as being spoiled... I'll be the first to fess up. Grew up in NYC and went to any and every worthwhile photo exhibit between the mid '70s and late '90s. One does get acclimated to an ever changing, never ending live procession of top notch exhibits. And while there is a considerable photographic presence here in SF- I, at least, can't write daily posts on that alone year round.

I already spend way too much time on these internets as is, and it's only natural the law of diminishing returns comes into play at some point. All I'm saying is that my days of daily posting is most likely over- very few (non-supported) blogs still do. And, maybe, just maybe, I may not even have it in me to keep it fresh P/T. Just thought I'd throw out the heads up- hell, I'm surprised I've lasted this long. Yes, I know there's still a torrent of photography floating and lingering about- and I'm sure others (like yourself) will be pointing the way to it. It's not that there's nothing left to see, it's more- do I have anything left to add to the conversation that hasn't already been said? And let's be clear that I don't exaggerate the importance of my contribution- my perennial exclusion from any "best of" list speaks to that...

I'd still like to think the kid has a couple of hits left in 'em- I've just never liked the role of DH much.
