Well, one blogger wants to see less B&W photography that looks like it was shot in 1975 in the up and coming new year. Fair enough. Now imagine all the freed up gallery space in '09 if we were to suddenly see less color photography that looks like it was shot in... 1976.

That's quite a fine shot, and the fact that it wasn't made yesterday seems of little consequence to me.
Thanks, Mike. I think the blogger was referring more to a particular style however, which I'll have more to say on shortly...
I was interested to see how he would also like to see less typologies after his previous post about a series on the inside of nightclubs???
OK perhaps not a pure typology but come on!
I'd like to see less photography that all looks like it was shot by Alec Soth..... But of course we should never answer back or we shall be forever branded as "Flamers" by the almighty purvayer of taste.......
Oh yeah HAPPY NEW YEAR.......
And not an altogether bad start to a typology at that- I just wanted to see much more...
I've got nothing against typologies, Alec Soth (who reminds me a lot of a young Joel Sternfield) or color as a whole. But if you're gonna rag on something for so long, and have the bully pulpit to do so, then at least throw a bone and maybe be so kind as to offer a few suggestions...
Of course art being art, people will react, and he will moan and bitch and try to belittle people who can then not comment, or if they can, be ridiculed by his "yes I need my work in an NY gallery so best not speak out of line crew" and if they do disagree (I've got a fucking disagree gene) he will use some nerd speak tosh like "troll" or "flamer" to say that their view is not valid.
Hey and then you can pay $100 to get your work reviewed by an Astrophysicist, nice one I'm offering my services to NASA.
I'm only messing with you JM you know we love you......
